OUR Annual Hoodie Ball

The Hoodie ball is a celebration of identity and diversity, but hoodies get a bad rep. My Block My Hood My City is changing the narrative. Hoodies have been instrumental to our work here at My Block My Hood My City and our annual Hoodie Ball honors that.

We are inviting you to come out and wear a hoodie that shows off the city, college, identity, sports team, workplace, non-profit, etc. that you identify with and support.

This event provides an opportunity for members of diverse communities to come together to eat, drink, dance, listen to music, network, and enjoy each others company.

We have a hoodie contest with grand prizes for the best hoodies, hoodie ice sculpture and live hoodie customization. All funds raised support our programming with youth, block clubs, and seniors.

This past February at the South Shore Cultural Center hundreds showed up and expressed themselves with the hoodie! Check out the recap video and photos. The looks on your faces said everything!

Thank you Chicago. We are so grateful. We can’t wait to do this again next year.

Shouts to our host Leon Rogers and DJ V-Dub. Thank you to our sponsors! And finally, congrats Terrence Hennigan for winning the Golden Hoodie Award.
