Thanks to you, we raised over $30K in our first ever paddle raise! We don’t take your support lightly. You’re part of this movement, and we’re grateful to have you with us.

We hope to see you at the 2027 Hoodie Ball! More info coming soon.

The fourth annual My Block, My Hood, My City Hoodie Ball brought together an incredible community of supporters, advocates, and corporate sponsors to celebrate our 10 years of work across Chicago and expand our impact to last a lifetime. This spectacular evening featured delicious food and an open bar, entertainment, a silent auction, a "Golden Hoodie" ceremony honoring a very special Chicagoan, and—most importantly—the opportunity to invest in Chicago's youth and underserved communities.

But this isn’t just any nonprofit fundraising gala… this is the Hoodie Ball!

As a young activist without access to institutional grants and traditional nonprofit funding, Jahmal Cole needed a way to support his grassroots work on Chicago’s South Side. That’s when his now-iconic black hoodie was born—featuring the name "My Block My Hood My City" stitched in blue and accented with the famous red stars from the Chicago flag.

You’ve heard of a sneaker ball, right? This is just like that—but swap your sneakers for a hoodie that represents who you are! Whether you’re repping your neighborhood, your family, or your team, join us to raise funds for Jahmal’s ongoing work with teens and block clubs on the South and West Sides of Chicago.
