Thank you Windy City Live & ABC for the continued support. I started this org by volunteering at Cook County Jail. I remember being nervous during my first day of volunteering because I was assigned to the automatic transfer unit. I didn't know what advice I could give to someone going away for 10+ years. Once I saw the teenagers though, I saw a reflection of myself, and ways I used to think about life before I traveled. My simple idea was to take teenagers from the hood to the top of the Sears tower, so they could see the City from a different perspective. I called this explorers program My Block, My Hood, My City because all the incarcerated teenagers boasted about was their blocks and their hoods. I wanted them to exude that same passion when they talked about their City. Exposure is key. Thank you for the support. We're just getting started.
